Patience C. Onuoha, DO PC

Dr Patience C. Onuoha hails from Umuchima, Ihiagwa in Owerri West LGA in Imo state Nigeria. She is the first daughter of the late Nze Innocent Ezenmadu Onuoha and Lolo Virginia Onuoha of Ihiagwa. She completed her primary education at the community Central school, Ihiagwa and went on to complete her secondary school education at the Owerri Girls Secondary School, Owerri imo State. After her advanced level studies at the School of Preliminary Studies, Keffi, then Plateau State, she left for United States of America for further studies in 1979.

 

While in the United States, she graduated from Western Kentucky University in less than three years majoring in Chemistry and Biology. In addition, she also earned a Bachelor of Nursing (BSN) Degree from Thomas Jefferson University in Philadelphia PA. While in College, she got married and was blessed with three beautiful children; her eldest daughter, Amanda, is preparing to get into medical school, drawing inspiration from her mom.

 

After her father lost his battle with cardiomyopathy in 1981, it became a great inspiration for her to study medicine. She worked full time as a critical care nurse and at the same time attending medical school full time. She is thankful to God for the strength to perform this fit. She obtained her medical degree from Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine, where she distinguished herself and was awarded board of trustee’s scholarship. She later proceeded to the University of Medicine and Dentistry Teaching Hospital, Newark, New Jersey where she obtained her residency training in Internal Medicine.

 

She is a member of numerous professional organizations including the American College of Physicians, American Medical Association, and American Osteopathic Association. She is board certified in Internal Medicine. She also has certifications in Basic and Advanced Cardiac Life Support and Advanced Trauma Life Support.

 

Dr Onuoha is the President and CEO of Patience C Onuoha, DO PC, a Healthcare Corporation. She manages admissions, diagnoses, treatments, medical consults, and medical procedures. She also collaborates with other specialists to deliver medical case presentations. The highlight of her career was developing a corporation that allows her to practice as a physician in several hospitals throughout the United States. She already has privileges and licenses to practice in the States of New Jersey, Missouri, Indiana, and Washington.

 

Dr Onuoha is a born humanitarian. In the ‘80s she received an honorary citizenship award from the mayor of the city of Bowling Green Kentucky following her community involvement and humanitarian services. Furthermore, she collaborates with her home church in the State of Missouri to embark on international medical mission trips delivering aids to the needy. She volunteers in the Give 5 Campaign, the American Cancer Society and the Autism Speaks. She has been touching lives in very meaningful ways everywhere. Her zest for getting involved and making a difference in her hometown of Ihiagwa, Owerri has made her a standard bearer in the rebuilding and revamping of the once collapsed and dilapidated Ihiagwa Secondary.

 

It is a great pleasure to accept the title of Adamezirialannaya 1 of Ihiagwa from His Royal Highness Eze J.O. Muruako, Nnaochie II of Ihiagwa.
